Windows 11 24H2 Support Ends 13 October 2026

less than 1 minute read

Windows 11 version 24H2 (Home and Pro) reaches end of servicing on 13 October 2026. That month’s Patch Tuesday is its last security update. After that, 24H2 devices stop receiving fixes for new vulnerabilities.

Enterprise and Education editions of 24H2 are supported until 13 October 2027. If you run Enterprise or Education on 23H2, note that it ends sooner, on 11 November 2026. Full dates are on Microsoft’s Windows 11 lifecycle page.

Why it matters for Cyber Essentials

Cyber Essentials requires in-scope devices to run supported software that still receives security updates. A Windows 11 24H2 Home or Pro device fails that test from 14 October. It will also be flagged in a Cyber Essentials Plus assessment.

What to do

  • Check your version: press Windows + R, type winver and press Enter.
  • Update: install Windows 11 25H2 or later from Settings > Windows Update. On 24H2 devices, 25H2 installs as a small enablement package and one restart.
  • Managed fleets: check your Intune or WSUS update rings have not deferred feature updates past the deadline.
